Experience a creative marriage of movement and phonic artistry.
Engaging senses of both sight and sound, Danielle Davis (operatic soprano) and Wendi Weng (interpretive dancer) carry you away to another realm with LUCIDITY. This Avant-garde duo breathes new life into classical music and dance. Following a contemporary trend of mash-up art, the two combine their artistic genres to create something exploratory and unique. Weng and Davis have performed at many art galleries and openings, as well as for esteemed performances like Long Island’s Art Basel 2019, MoCA L.I.ghts 2022 (an immersive, open-air museum with site-specific projected installations on both modern & historic architecture presented by PAC), and Gold Coast Dance Festival 2022.
The two strive to make art and performance accessible to everyone. “The imaginary walls of art as something being enjoyed by a select few were torn down in the 20th century. Creativity and freedom of expression were preferred rather than preserving the classiness of art.” (Quote from a wonderful 2023 article by artist, Barrie J Davis entitled “What is Mash-Up Art?” If you’d like to read the full article, please click here.)
The duo has made waves everywhere they’ve gone, and plan to continue expanding people’s understanding of both opera and interpretive dance. Please contact us via the contact page of this website for bookings for your event, gallery or art opening, salon or soiree today. We also love to collaborate with other artists and composers, so reach out if you have something you’d like to explore together.
